Meet the Doctor

Dr. Hancock grew up in Fairfield, California. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation Biology, and then attended the University of California at San Francisco for dental school. While in dental school, Dr. Hancock served in several school leadership positions and was an elected member of OKU, the National Dental honor society. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2003, Dr. Hancock spent three years practicing dentistry in Arizona at a practice primarily treating children.

In 2006 he returned to school at the University of Pittsburgh to attend a residency in orthodontics. During his residency, Dr. Hancock focused his research on new orthodontic materials and submitted a portion of his research for a patent. After completing three years of specialty training, Dr. Hancock received his orthodontic certificate in 2009.

From 2009 to 2016, Dr. Hancock was working in Leesburg as a partner with Dr. Robert Strange. In 2014, Dr. Hancock purchased the practice and currently serves Loudoun and Frederick counties.

Dr. Hancock is a member of American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Virginia and Southern Associations of Orthodontists. He is in the process of becoming a board certified orthodontist with the American Board of Orthodontics. He attends orthodontic conferences, seminars and continuing education courses to stay current with the latest knowledge and technology in orthodontics.

Dr. Hancock, his wife Heather, and their six young children have lived in Leesburg for six years. Being part of the Loudoun County community is important to their family, and Hancock Orthodontics is proud to be an active supporter of area sports teams, school PTAs, and other local causes. Dr. Hancock spends his free time as a Boy Scout leader, volunteering for his church, attending his children’s sporting events, and enjoying the outdoors with his family. You may have seen Dr. Hancock and his family walking in the Town of Leesburg Fourth of July parade – if you missed them, please look for them again next year!
